Emarat, a producer and marketer of petroleum products, has started operation of a gas gathering, receiving and distribution station to supply customers in the Al-Hama and Al Ghail industrial areas in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

According to Emarat, the new station will increase the volumes of gas transported via Emarat Gas Pipeline Network over the next years, and increase its efficiency. The new station will continue to supply the gas network for the next 10 years at an average of 50,000 million British thermal units (MMBTU) of gas per day and is expected to generate a net profit amounting to AED228 million over the next 10 years based on the current gas transportation tariffs.

Khalid Al Awadi, director of gas operations department at Emarat, has clarified that the station usage and duties can now be extended and expanded for many years in the event of new gas fields discovery in Ras Al Khaimah or new gas supply from Iran and Oman.
