ROTH Capital Partners Second Annual China Only Conference to Feature 70 Companies, Investing Guru Jim Rogers to Keynote

October 15, 2008

China will be the focus of the ROTH Capital Partners Second Annual “China Only” Conference scheduled for Las Vegas on November 19-21, 2008 at Wynn Resort and Casino.

Dedicated to US listed Chinese companies, this conference will offer investors a look at opportunities in emerging markets that might offer growth despite economic downturns in more mature markets.

“When the industrial world is really suffering, the emerging markets look even better,” said Donald Straszheim, ROTH’s Vice Chairman and former Chief Economist for Merrill Lynch. “Though there is a recession and severe financial distress in the US, Europe and Japan, it is expected that China should weather the storm better than any other country in the world. We still believe that China will enjoy the fastest growth in the world over the next five years.”

The conference is an information-rich, time saving program featuring presentations from CEOs and CFOs of more than 70 companies with an average market cap of $160 million. The schedule is designed to give investors ample time with management teams via one-on-one meetings. ROTH’s China based analysts also will be on hand to give additional insight into the presenting companies.

“With more than a month to go and in spite of the current market turmoil, investor registration for this China conference is already twice the number of total investors who attended ROTH’s 2007 China Only event in Phoenix,” said Mark Tobin, Director of Research. “This appears to be a positive indication that investors have an appetite for Chinese equities. While we do not expect China to be unaffected by the global financial crisis, we believe certain sectors within China, including consumer, agriculture, education and energy/environment are somewhat insulated from these events.

“Roth views the current valuations of its China sector as compelling, with an average P/E multiple in the mid-single digits, reflecting a deep discount to our expected earnings growth rates,” notes Tobin. “We believe that China is too big and is growing too fast for investors to ignore.”

One of the highlights of the conference is a keynote by global investing guru Jim Rogers, author of the best selling book A Bull in China: Investing Profitably in the World’s Greatest Market. Mr. Rogers will give a presentation on China and its macro and micro environment, as well as his insights into the current global economic turmoil. Mr. Rogers is co-founder, along with George Soros, of the Quantum Fund a global-investment partnership. Over a ten year period, the portfolio gained 4200%, while the S&P rose less than 50%. He is also creator of the Rogers International Commodities Index (RICI).

Mr. Rogers has been frequently featured in Time, The Washington Post, The New York Times, Barron’s, Forbes, Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, and many media outlets worldwide. He also appeared as a regular commentator and columnist in various media and taught as a visiting professor at Columbia University.

This conference is another chapter in ROTH’s growing commitment to China. Over the past two years ROTH has taken U.S. investors to more than 40 company facilities in mainland China and hosted close to 300 China company presentations at its US and China conferences.

In the past 12 months, ROTH also has raised more than $744.5 million, completing more than 26 transactions for Chinese companies. With 18 professionals in Shanghai, plus a complementary China team in the US, ROTH has become a recognized leader in the China micro and small cap market. Its presence in mainland China has never been stronger. ROTH’s goal is to nearly double its research coverage by year-end.
