OutBack Power Systems' New SMARTRE Renewable Energy Solution Delivers "Always-On" Grid-Tie Power Assurance

OutBack Power Systems, Inc. (www.outbackpower.com), a manufacturer of reliable and durable power electronics products for renewable energy applications worldwide, introduced today a new fully integrated renewable energy grid-tie system with battery back-up for residential and light commercial applications for customers who want to sell power back to the grid and have the ability to produce and maintain power during a utility power outage. The company's Smart Renewable Energy Solution, SMARTRE, offers home owners and small businesses a revolutionary solution that allows installers to easily sell and install a grid-tied system that harnesses the sun's rays to create energy, while simultaneously providing owners the peace of mind of battery back-up, always-on power.
"The SMARTRE product is the turnkey solution I was looking for -- a simple to install, pre-configured solar electric system with battery back-up for the looming winter storms ahead," said Ananda Hartzell, SMARTRE customer. "It looks great, fits into my space constrained basement, and has a battery capacity meter that even my 3-year-old understands."
"SMARTRE is the grid-tie battery-backed inverter solution that combines affordability and ease of installation with the robustness and reliability of larger-scale products," said Jeremy Smithson, Puget Sound Solar. "We're seeing a significant uptick in demand for residential and small business solar solutions and are pleased to have an OutBack option that meets our customers' budgetary needs while providing a product that we, as installers, can quickly integrate into solar installations."
Unveiling SMARTRE at Solar Power International 2008, OutBack Power showcases an affordable grid-tie with battery back-up solution, specifically designed with a standard configuration for a simple installation either inside or outside the house or business. SMARTRE addresses the common cost and complex installation issues found in other grid-tie with battery back-up solutions, including time required for installation, location of installation, and appealing aesthetic look, while requiring only the addition of batteries and solar to its SMARTRE solution.
"SMARTRE addresses the growing demand for a simple, affordable and easy-to-install product that fulfills the need for a grid-tied renewable energy solution with battery back-up power that provides power even during outages," said Mark Thomas, CEO/President of OutBack Power Systems. "SMARTRE maintains the same standard of durability and reliability our customers have come to know and expect in a simplified premium power solution."
SMARTRE products will be available in the first quarter of 2009 and can be purchased through OutBack Power's distribution partners. Solar Power International attendees can learn more about the product by visiting booth 1423 during the show.
