Venoco’s COO and Executive Vice President Resigns

October 21, 2008

Venoco, an independent energy company engaged in oil and gas exploration and production, has announced that Mark DePuy is resigning as the company’s COO and executive vice president.

Mr DePuy became vice president of northern assets, in August 2005 and was promoted to senior vice president and COO of Venoco in January 2006.

Prior to joining the company, he spent 27 years with Unocal in a variety of domestic and international operating and business planning roles, most recently as a corporate planning manager for worldwide operations. With Unocal, Mr DePuy spent 13 years working on operations onshore and offshore coastal California.

Tim Marquez, founder, chairman and CEO of Venoco, said: “We are very disappointed to lose Mark, but we are supportive of his decision to focus on his family in California. Unfortunately the demands in our Denver corporate office and Mark’s commitments in California were no longer compatible.”
