Metso to Supply a Crushing and Screening System to Brazil

Metso will supply a complete crushing and screening system to Construtora Norberto Odebrecht for the Santo Antonio project in Rondonia State, Brazil. The delivery will be completed by the end of the Q1, 2009. The value of the order is approximately EUR 7 million and it is included in Metso Minerals’ Q3 orders received.

The order comprises a complete crushing and screening system consisting of two primary crushers, a secondary cone crusher, two tertiary cone crushers, and an impact crusher for fine crushing. Metso will also supply several semi-mobile screens, vibrating feeders, vibrating chutes and conveyors. The order includes design, engineering, supervision of assembly and commissioning services, as well as the training of the plant operators.

The new crushing and screening system is for producing aggregates for the Santo Antonio hydroelectric power plant at the Madeira River near the city of Porto Velho. The power plant will be constructed by the Consortium CSAC (Consorcio Santo Antonio Civil) and Odebrecht is the leading company in the consortium. The new system will be able to process 880 tonnes of aggregates per hour, producing four types of end products for the infrastructure and construction of the hydroelectric power plant.
