ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- XsunX, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: XSNX), a solar technology company reports on a successful Solar Power International 2008 Conference and Trade Show in San Diego. The Solar Power show is the largest in the U.S.A. with Keynote addresses from California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and General Wesley Clark and was sold out attracting large groups of domestic and international buyers representing public and private utilities, solar installers, and professionals servicing the solar industry. Event organizers identified total attendance of 24,500 from 90 countries, 7000 more than anticipated.
XsunX observed tremendous interest in the Company's TFPV modules and returned from the solar show with sales leads for projects ranging from 2 to 100+ MW and spanning 6 countries. This strong demand for thin film solutions is consistent with industry predictions as figures from Lux Research indicate that thin-film PV technology has reached critical mass and is positioned to grow to $19.7bn in sales by 2012 taking a 28% share of the growing solar market.
The recent passage of an eight year extension to the Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) appears to have contributed to the increase in demand for solar modules at the show with the ITC providing the financial incentives necessary for new and pre-existing solar power projects to finalize plans and schedule installations over the next several years.
"We observed at the San Diego solar power show a tremendous growth in the number of businesses and professionals moving into the space including consulting, project management, installation and engineering which with expediential growth over the next 10-20 years will provide a professional infrastructure necessary to service this growing industry," stated Mr. Tom Djokovich, CEO of XsunX. "With follow through on the sales leads received at the show we will continue to build our sales pipeline with anticipation of our production line coming on-line in 2009."
