Energy and the Election: Frost & Sullivan Compares the Energy Policies of Obama and McCain

Posted on: Tuesday, 28 October 2008, 18:00 CDT

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Energy & Power Systems practice at Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce its 2008 Quarterly Analyst Briefing Presentation on the Presidential nominee energy policies, to be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. PDT.

Frost & Sullivan's energy research identifies government incentives and restrictions as the greatest drivers of renewable energy growth and development. Conventional sources of energy are being challenged, as the United States strives to reduce carbon emissions and "go green." While the U.S. Presidential candidates propose different energy plans, ultimately U.S. voters will have the final say in the country's energy investment plans

This briefing will benefit energy and power companies, investors and the general public, as Election Day quickly approaches. The presentation will discuss an overview of the Presidential candidates' energy plans, with an emphasis on their different views on oil and gas, carbon and clean coal, and renewable energy. The presentation will conclude with a live question and answer session in which attendees will be able to ask Frost & Sullivan's Director of Energy Research Roberta Gamble questions directly.

"The differences in Obama's and McCain's energy plans will not only impact the United States but also affect global markets as well," explains Gamble. "McCain's plans fully leverage domestic capabilities and resources and would likely decrease energy costs and increase security concerns in the short term. Obama's more aggressive carbon legislation and greater emphasis on renewable power will likely create a more long-term solution for both electricity concerns and environmental issues."
