29 Trapped in China Mine Explosion

Gas exploded in a coal mine in northwest China’s Shaanxi province, trapping 29 miners, officials said.
The blast occurred late Wednesday in the shaft at the Yaotou mine in Chengcheng County in central Shaanxi, Xinhua reported quoting a provincial government spokesman.
Emergency rescue operations were under way, the state-run news agency said, adding no additional details were immediately available.
