United Airlines Load Factor Slightly Up in October

United Airlines has reported a passenger load factor of 81.3% in October 2008, an increase of 0.2 points, compared to 81.1% in October 2007.

The airline’s total scheduled revenue passenger miles decreased 9.7% to 8.68 billion, compared to 9.61 billion in October 2007. Capacity decreased 9.9% to 10.68 billion scheduled available seat miles, compared to 11.85 billion scheduled available seat miles in October 2007.

United Airlines has boarded 5.12 million passengers under scheduled service in October 2008, a decrease of 9.4%, compared to 5.65 million passengers in October 2007. Actual number of departures decreased 12.3% to 40,663, compared to 46,386 departures in October 2007.
