HUGHES to Showcase Satellite System Capabilities at MILCOM 2008 Conference

GERMANTOWN, Md., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite network solutions and services, will showcase its satellite broadband technology solutions at the MILCOM 2008 Conference in San Diego, California. In addition, Hughes representatives will participate in panel discussions and present technical papers focusing on important satellite communications-related topics, including Ka-band Hughes SPACEWAY(R) 3 technologies, SATCOM-on-the-Move (SOTM), and next-generation warfighter networks. The 27th Annual MILCOM 2008 Conference and Exhibition brings together members of the government, military, scientific, and engineering communities to showcase new products, breakthrough technologies, and industry trends through special exhibits, interactive tutorials, keynote speeches, and panel discussions. Rajeev Gopal, senior director, and Steve Arnold, senior director, from Hughes will be presenting three papers on advanced satellite systems during the MILCOM technical sessions.
Hughes will exhibit at Booth 1143, demonstrating live, full-mesh, IP operations over its SPACEWAY 3 satellite system. The demonstrations will highlight the pioneering capabilities of SPACEWAY 3 on-board packet switching and dynamic resource allocation for net-centric applications using easy-to-deploy satellite terminals. In addition, Hughes will also showcase its HX200 broadband satellite router.

Tuesday, November 18, 9:15 a.m. - Noon: Steve Arnold, senior director, Hughes will present a technical paper in the SAC-2 SATCOM-on-the-Move (SOTM) session. The presentation will examine the key aspects associated with implementing SOTM capabilities for next-generation regenerative satellites.
Situational Awareness with Real Time IP Applications over Next-Generation Packet Processing Satellites
Tuesday, November 18, 2:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Rajeev Gopal, senior director, Hughes will present a technical paper in the NCS-4 Next Generation Warfighter Networks and Systems session. The presentation will describe how the SPACEWAY 3 full-mesh capability uses on-board packet switching and dynamic resource allocation to provide high Quality of Service (QoS) for real-time video and audio.
