Clean Green Energy, LLC (www.cleangreenenergyllc.com) has engaged a non-profit group, Michigan Green (Group for a Renewable Energy Efficient Nation -- www.michigangreen.org), to manage the energy education component of its Project EVERGREEN Schools(TM) program.
Michigan GREEN is a group of energy companies and consultants, together with schools, colleges, and universities, that have joined together to champion the cause of renewable energy and energy efficiency throughout the Nation. Michigan GREEN's energy education consultants will partner with teacher/leaders to align units of instruction within state content benchmarks in science, math, and social studies.
At the center of the energy education component, Michigan GREEN and teacher/leaders will create and maintain a virtual energy learning center that all students and teachers will be able to access through Clean Green Energy's website. Students can track and monitor each installation's energy output and environmental impact, and then share the results within the community.
The goal of Project EverGREEN Schools(TM) is to increase the understanding and participation of our Nation's youth for an early understanding of the stakes involved and the challenges and possibilities of a sustainable energy future.
The initiative provides a hands-on education program at our Nation's schools from an economic, integrated, onsite distributed renewable energy generation system. Students receive a meaningful curriculum to stimulate interest in renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency options. Key Project EverGREEN Schools(TM) tenets include:
Student Benefits -- Hands-on green energy education with scholarships for higher education -- Onsite virtual learning center -- Green energy field trips School District Benefits -- Clean Green Energy owns, installs, maintains & operates one or more renewable energy generation and energy efficiency devices at the school -- Capital expenditures not required by schools -- Clean Green Energy sells all electricity generated only to the school -- School districts have affordable control of energy costs and pays for delivered power only -- Long-Term fixed rates -- Hedge against rate increases -- Potential to lower existing energy costs -- Potential to reduce energy usage Community Benefits -- Increased community awareness of renewable energy generation and efficiencies -- Improved environment through decreased use of fossil fuels -- Increased awareness of employment opportunities
