BETHESDA, Md., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Catapult Technology, Ltd., a leading Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVO) Information Technology (IT) contractor to the federal government, announced successful re-competition on a five-year, $5.8 million contract providing IT support services to the Department of Transportation (DOT), Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). Catapult is the prime contractor.

Catapult provides IT support services to three PHMSA offices: the Office of Hazardous Materials Safety (OHMS), Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS), and Office of Management and Administration (OMA). Services include application and web support, database administration, and systems development and integration for the following systems:

- Hazardous Materials Information System (HMIS), a web-based transactional system that collects and distributes information on hazardous materials spills and on regulatory activities.

- Budget Allocation and Control system (BACS), a web-based internal budget tracking system that provides additional functionality beyond DOT's department-wide financial system.

- Procurement Information System for Management (PRISM), a Commercial-Off- the-Shelf (COTS) package for streamlining PHMSA's procurement process from requisitioning through closeout.

- Online Data Entry and Operator Registration System (ODES), an external facing web application.

"Since the start of this contract in 2005, PHMSA has wanted to move to a data-driven architecture," said Randy J. Slager, CEO, Chairman, and founder of Catapult Technology. "We are helping them achieve that through support services that are critical to PHMSA's goal of being a model safety agency. We're pleased to be able to continue our work on this project and to expand our footprint at the DOT."

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) is one of ten operating administrations within the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
