CENTREVILLE, Va., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Carfax today announced that Volvo Cars of North America has joined the Carfax Service Link program. "The Carfax Service Link program is a true benefit for Boston Volvo Village," said Brian Fitzpatrick, internet manager at Boston Volvo Village in Allston, Mass. "The reports provide consistency to our vehicles that were bought and serviced throughout our dealership. Carfax is a trusted third party that confirms our service records and gives our customers peace of mind when buying from our dealership. In addition, we can justify a higher price for the vehicles that have an extensive service history. There are very few opportunities like this to increase our net profit without spending a dime."

Volvo strongly encourages their dealers to participate in the Carfax Service Link program. Carfax Service Link is a free, value-added feature that puts a participating dealership's name on the Carfax Report of each vehicle they service. Dealership contact information and a Web site link appear alongside each service record to help dealers retain these vehicles in their service cycle. More than 5400 dealerships report their service information to Carfax through the Carfax Service Link program.

"The Carfax Service Link program benefits both our retailers and potential customers," said Susan Heusser, VCNA Service Support Manager. "It benefits our retailers by providing not only free advertising, but also the ability to retain service business and even add a premium to the selling price of the used vehicles on their lot. In addition, the customer gains confidence knowing the vehicle was serviced and maintained at a Volvo retailer."

Any dealership can join the Carfax Service Link program at no cost. Volvo and other dealers interested in participating can call (800) 561-5496. For more information about Carfax Service Link, visit www.carfaxonline.com.
