December 3, 2008
Repost This

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ — RSVP Vacations, the originator of the
gay and lesbian cruise concept, announced details on five all-gay cruises in
2009, designed to give travelers more variety and choice than ever before.
With three major U.S. city departures — Ft. Lauderdale, Los Angeles and
Seattle — RSVP’s 2009 cruises also offer unprecedented convenience, ease and
value.

RSVP Vacations produces distinctive travel packages designed for gay and
lesbian travelers. It custom tailors the traditional cruise vacation
experience for its gay and lesbian guests. RSVP originated the all-gay cruise
concept, hosting its first all-gay cruise in 1986. Since then, more than
80,000 men and women have participated in RSVP’s big and small ship cruises,
riverboat cruises, land tours, and resort vacations.

The company’s 2009 cruises are: an Eastern Caribbean Cruise on Holland
America’s newest flagship, ms Eurodam; a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian
Cruise Line’s Norwegian Star; back-to-back riverboat cruises on Amadeus
Waterways’ ms Amalyra, including Europe’s Heartland Cruise and the Legendary
Danube Cruise; and a new Seattle to Alaska cruise on Holland America’s ms
Westerdam.

“RSVP is growing, and we’re stronger than ever before,” said Charlie
Rounds
, president of RSVP. “In 2009, we’re showing our gratitude to our loyal
guests by offering five different cruises with five distinct itineraries on
four different and exciting ships.”

In December 2007, RSVP was acquired by Atlantis Events, Inc., the world’s
largest company specializing in all-gay and lesbian travel. RSVP remains a
separate and distinct brand from Atlantis, staying true to its heritage of
providing high quality gay and lesbian vacations that emphasize a sense of fun
and community.

“RSVP guests can expect the same high quality experience and vacation
format that have become our hallmark,” said Rounds. “Returning guests will
find all the best elements of the vacations that they came to know and love,
along with a few fun, new surprises,” he said.

Eastern Caribbean Cruise on ms Eurodam

February 21 – 28, 2009

RSVP begins 2009 with an exceptional Eastern Caribbean cruise on one of
the newest and most modern ships sailing today, ms Eurodam. The cruise
departs gay-friendly Ft. Lauderdale on a seven-night itinerary to some of the
most beautiful and picturesque ports of the Eastern Caribbean, including Turks
& Caicos, San Juan, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the private island of
Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.

The new Eurodam is the first of the new Signature Class of ships at
Holland America, and is the line’s largest ship at 2,104 passengers. The
Eurodam combines brilliant new public spaces — including a new pool deck and
restaurants — with Holland America’s signature in-cabin amenities that
include plush Euro-top “Mariner’s Dream” beds, Egyptian cotton towels and flat
panel TVs. Staterooms start at $899, based on double occupancy.*

Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Star

April 18 – 25, 2009

In 2009, RSVP takes its classic Mexican Riviera Cruise and updates it with
a new twist — Freestyle 2.0 cruising from NCL. RSVP’s first sailing aboard
the spectacular Norwegian Star offers a winning combination of great ports,
enhanced Freestyle dining options and stateroom experience, signature RSVP
entertainment, and exceptional overall value. Sailing from Los Angeles, the
cruise continues on to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.

RSVP’s Mexican Riviera Cruise will be one of the first cruises to
experience Freedom 2.0 — NCL’s name for the major enhancements that it is
making to its onboard product. Guests onboard the Norwegian Star will be
treated to new menus with better ingredients and more choices at the 10
different restaurants they have to choose from. They will also find upgraded
stateroom amenities, including Elemis toiletries, upgraded mattresses and
towels, and customized mini-bar selections. The Star boasts a two-story,
24-hour spa and fitness center with an indoor pool surrounded by a waterfall,
and expansive outdoor pool decks that provide the perfect setting for pool
games, outdoor T-dances and other fun activities. Staterooms start at $799,
based on double occupancy — RSVP’s lowest prices in years.*

Europe’s Heartland Cruise and Legendary Danube Cruise on ms Amalyra

August 7 – 17, 2009 and August 14 – 24, 2009

Next summer, RSVP explores the best of Central Europe with back-to-back
riverboat cruises on the new ms Amalyra, affording guests the opportunity to
choose from two distinct nine-night European vacations, or a
once-in-a-lifetime, 16-night odyssey with no repeat ports.

Lovers of wine and gastronomy will be thrilled by the Europe’s Heartland
Cruise, which begins with two unforgettable days in Paris, the City of Lights.
Embarking in Trier, guests will travel through the heart of Germany at
summertime as the cruise winds down the Moselle, Rhine, and Main rivers with
stops in Cochem, Koblenz, Rudesheim, Frankfurt, Miltenberg, Wertheim, Wurzburg
and Bamberg before ending in Nuremberg.

RSVP’s Legendary Danube Cruise begins with two days in Prague, one of
Europe’s most beautiful and gay-friendly cities. Guests join the ms Amalyra
in Nuremburg and travel through the Bavarian forests of Germany to Regensberg
and Passau, before continuing along the Danube to Linz and Melk. Opera
aficionados and culture vultures will relish in this cruise’s two full days
and nights in historic Vienna. The cruise continues on to Bratislava, the
historic capital of Slovakia, before concluding in vibrant Budapest.

Amadeus Waterways’ ms Amalyra will be the newest ship sailing Europe’s
waterways and will offer the luxury of more space than on any other riverboat
in Europe. The intimate size and scale of RSVP’s riverboat cruises — along
with the finest ship and stunning scenery — create an environment of luxury,
romance and camaraderie that is truly unique. Staterooms on each of these
unforgettable nine-night vacations start at $2,769 based on double occupancy.*

Seattle to Alaska Cruise on ms Westerdam

August 23 – 30, 2009

RSVP sets sail for Alaska in late August 2009, the best time of the year
to visit the 49th State. The cruise begins with a convenient and
cost-effective Seattle departure, sailing on to scenic Glacier Bay. With
stops in Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan, guests will have ample opportunity to
take in the stunning natural beauty of the state, whether by helicopter,
zip-line, kayak, hiking or leisurely strolls through each of the quaint towns.
The cruise makes a final stop in historic Victoria, Canada, before returning
to Seattle.

RSVP’s home for this week is Holland America’s newly refurbished ms
Westerdam. Sixty-seven percent of the staterooms on this beautiful ship
feature private verandahs, perfect spots from which to enjoy the spectacular
scenery. After a long day of sightseeing in the Alaskan wilderness, guests
can be pampered in the Greenhouse Spa and Salon or enjoy a gourmet meal in the
reservations-only Pinnacle Grill, before taking in one of RSVP’s signature
shows. Staterooms start at $949 based on double occupancy — substantially
lower fares than on RSVP’s 2007 Alaska cruise.*

* Port fees, gratuities, fuel surcharges and airfare are additional
