COSTA MESA, Calif., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Irvine Sensors
Corporation (Nasdaq: IRSN), together with Applied Research Associates, Inc.
(“ARA”), announced today that they have completed two highly successful
demonstrations of their TOWHAWK(TM) unattended Aerial Sensor (“UAS”) System.
TOWHAWK is a UAS system developed to provide dedicated, under armor
situational awareness to ground combat vehicles. The system provides combat
crews organic situational awareness without exposing the crew to hostile fire.

Both demonstrations were in conjunction with BAE Systems sponsored Live
Fire Exercises (LFX) for the Army customer communities at Fort Knox, Kentucky
and Fort Benning, Georgia. During these LFXs, TOWHAWK provided critical
situational awareness information to soldiers to allow for swift course of
action development. The TOWHAWK was utilized to provide soldiers situational
updates, which included the disposition of targets that had been engaged by
BAE Systems combat weapon systems.

John Carson, Irvine Sensors Chairman and CEO, said “It was a pleasure to
witness these highly successful demonstrations of this powerful capability.
The ‘ready now’ configuration of this system leads me to believe that we could
retrofit fielded armor vehicles with this superb capability without much
effort. We intend to continue to work with the Army user community to develop
TOWHAWK into a ‘Program of Record’.”
