New Green Invention Could Save U.S. Citizens From Drinking Recycled Waste Water, or a Billion Dollars in Tax Money For New Desalination Plants.

Posted on: Tuesday, 2 December 2008, 06:00 CST

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- After years of drought, many cities are now considering the use of recycled waste water for human consumption as a cheaper alternative to desalination plants. Apart from the danger of drinking contaminated remains of recycled water, there is the issue of ingesting rising levels of chemicals which increases each time water is recycled.

Such negative effects may not be realized until it is too late.

Amidst concerns for human health, new water recycling plants are popping up at a cost of over $40 million per plant. Las Vegas and Orange County, CA, are some examples.

In a New York Times article by RANDAL C. ARCHIBOLD published November 27, 2007, John Kromko, a former Arizona state legislator said, "We really don't know how safe it is." Mayor Jerry Sanders of San Diego said it "is not a silver bullet for the region's water needs."

He strongly urged residents to curtail water consumption as an alternative solution.

Now a former Hughes Aircraft engineer has developed a new invention which may provide a much better solution.

The Auto Touch Faucet system, which offers a choice of Hot, Warm, or Cold water, can replace virtually any faucet. This system operates on a Touch Sensor pad and cuts off waterflow with a Timer or upon release of the knees, thus eliminating wastage while one is brushing their teeth, shaving and cleaning.

This is not only sanitary, it also helps conserve water, and corresponding gas and electricity.

Verified results from one of the largest U.S. cruiselines shows a reduction of 44% in water usage per bathroom sink, a savings of 135 gallons of water per person per month. In Kitchen sinks, the Auto Touch Faucet reduced consumption by 58%, a savings of 910 gallons monthly.

The environmental impact as a result of enhanced use of the Auto Touch Faucet system is staggering. 135 gallons of water saved per person per month = 1620 gallons of water saved per person yearly. This equates to 500 billion gallons for the entire USA and perhaps One Trillion with the commercial sector added in.

Since the product is made in USA, it will help benefit US economy.
