Posted on: Wednesday, 3 December 2008, 08:00 CST

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Educating the incentive marketplace about the importance of including choice, value and service in employee and customer awards is a primary role of the Incentive Marketing Association's strategic industry group, the Incentive Gift Card Council (IGCC). Hallmark Insights Manager of Award Partnerships Nick Balestino was recently elected to the important planning group as its Director of Agency Relations.

In his new board position, Balestino will use his experience in the incentive industry and his current role at Minneapolis-based incentive management company Hallmark Insights to expand the role of gift cards as an incentive solution. He will work with key gift card providers to promote their offerings and provide the end user of corporate incentives -- employees and corporate customers -- with greater gift choice.

"I'm excited about my new role on the board of directors because this industry has so much to offer gift card sellers, from restaurants to retailers to service companies," says Balestino. "The great thing is that together with my colleagues in the Incentive Marketing field we can act as an extension of a merchant's sales team and expand the distribution channels for their gift card products. The gift card resellers in the IGCC represent a group of professionals who, through the use of gift cards, help today's leading companies reward and recognize their employees, motivate their sales team, encourage healthy behaviors, gain consumer loyalty and so much more. I'm absolutely thrilled to be on the board and continue the passion for excellence that has preceded me."

Nick Balestino recently started his two-year term on the IGCC's board of directors. He joined Hallmark Insights in 2007. Prior to that, Nick worked with Carlson Marketing Worldwide in merchant partnerships and loyalty programs.
