Texas Transportation Forum Will Kick Off 2009

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — State leaders and transportation experts will kick off 2009 at one of the largest transportation events in the state.

Be a part of the transformation as the Texas Department of Transportation co-hosts the Fourth Annual Texas Transportation Forum January 5 – 7, at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Austin.

National speakers T. Boone Pickens, business entrepreneur; Richard Gephardt, Former Majority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives; and Jane Garvey, Former FAA Administrator and Former Deputy FHWA Administrator, are among the guest speakers scheduled for the event.

State leaders, including Governor Rick Perry, Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Homeland Security, John Carona, and others will also speak at the event.

“I hope Texans will join in the discussion with elected officials and others who are constructing policies that will set the course of Texas transportation for years to come,” said TxDOT Executive Director Amadeo Saenz. “The methods we use to keep Texas moving are transforming, and we want everyone to help build our future.”

Leaders from all levels of state and local governments, transportation professionals and many others will come together to learn more about strategies targeting mobility in Texas.

Co-hosts include the Associated General Contractors of Texas, Texas Good Roads & Transportation Association and the Texas Transportation Institute.
