Trump Scottish golf resort approved
U.S. developer Donald Trump’s elaborate plans for a golf resort in the Scottish birthplace of the game received a green light Tuesday from the government.
The Scottish ministers ratified the agreement between Trump International Golf Links Scotland and the Aberdeenshire Council, The Scotsman reported.
This is a significant achievement for the Trump organization and for Scotland,
said George Sorial, the Trump organization’s managing director for international development. We are impressed by how efficiently the Scottish government and the Aberdeenshire Council have processed our application and extend our sincere gratitude to all who supported us and worked so hard to get this done.
Trump plans to create the world’s greatest golf course,
spending one billion pounds ($1.5 billion) on the project. Some local activists and environmentalists opposed the project.
