WASHINGTON, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ — Today the American Clean Skies Foundation issued the following statement on President-elect Obama’s selection of leadership for his energy and environment teams.

“President-elect Barack Obama has affirmed his commitment to plot a new energy future for America built on renewable energy sources based on his selections to lead the Department of Energy, White House Council on Environmental Quality, the Environmental Protection Agency and creation of an Energy Czar to provide continuous focus and direction. We believe clean burning natural gas will play a headline role as an important element in the new energy and environmental economy because of its environmentally sensitive qualities as well as the fact it is affordable, abundant and very importantly – located right here in America. We are encouraged and excited about the potential of a new energy future for America as described by President-elect Obama and his appointees today.”

The American Clean Skies Foundation is a nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to educate the public about environmental and energy issues. ACSF educates about the benefits of using natural gas as part of a sustainable energy future and was formed as a think tank to provide information about natural gas, clean energy and energy efficiency.
