PG&E Corporation Elects Roger H. Kimmel to Board of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — PG&E Corporation
(NYSE: PCG) today elected Roger H. Kimmel, 62, to the holding company’s Board
of Directors, as well as the Board of its subsidiary, Pacific Gas and Electric
Company, which provides utility service for 15 million people in northern and
central California.

Kimmel is Vice Chairman of Rothschild, Inc., a preeminent global banking
firm. In addition to his role as Vice Chairman, Kimmel is the Chairman of the
firm’s investment banking committee and a member of its management committee.
He joined Rothschild in 2001 after a distinguished legal career, culminating
in his role as a senior partner heading Latham & Watkins’ mergers and
acquisitions practice in New York. His election to the PG&E Boards will be
effective on January 1, 2009.

Kimmel is currently Chairman of the Board of Endo Pharmaceuticals
Holdings, Inc., and a member of the board of Schiff Nutrition International,

Kimmel holds an undergraduate degree from George Washington University in
Washington, D.C., where he graduated in 1968, and a J.D. from the University
of Virginia
, School of Law, where he graduated in 1971.
