Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation Names New Director of IT Applications and Planning

APPLETON, Wis., Dec. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation today announced that Kenny Young has been promoted to the position of director of applications and planning, reporting directly to managing director of IT Jeff Main. In his new position, Kenny will be responsible for all application software development, software package selections, application management and IT systems planning at Air Wisconsin. In addition to the software and development and management aspects of his new position, Kenny will lead the systems planning process for the IT department.

"Kenny adds a significant amount of knowledge and experience to the company's IT department with Microsoft's .NET software development platform," noted Main. "His entrepreneurial mindset and leadership skills will help ensure Air Wisconsin maintains a competitive edge in the regional airline market through the use of innovative and cost-effective IT solutions."

Young brings extensive knowledge and experience to his new role. Prior to joining Air Wisconsin in March of this year, Young owned his own software development company supporting the aviation industry, as well as experience in working for small and large companies in various IT application development roles. Since joining Air Wisconsin, Young and his team have accomplished a number of key objectives including: designing and beginning the development of a crew self-service system, leading the creation of a software development life cycle methodology, implementing a time and issue tracking system, directing the completion of the crew data warehouse, and numerous other applications.

Young earned a Bachelor of Administration degree in Philosophy from St. Mary's University and an Applied IT Diploma from Information Technology Institute, both in Halifax, Nova Scotia, as well as a Project Management Certificate from Business Improvement Architects in Toronto, Ontario.

Air Wisconsin, the largest privately held regional airline in the United States, operates as US Airways Express, scheduling nearly 500 departures per day to 69 cities in 26 states and two Canadian provinces. The fleet includes 70 Canadair Regional Jets. Additionally, Air Wisconsin performs ground-handling services for United Express and Northwest Airlines at over 30 locations throughout the country.
