Munire cribs and furniture recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Munire
Newport Rubbed Black cribs and furniture for a lead paint violation.
The red paint underneath the black finish paint on the cribs and matching furniture contains levels of lead higher than allowed, the commission said.
The matching furniture includes mirrors, hutches, bookcases and dressers.
About 3,000 cribs and 6,000 other pieces of furniture made by Munire Furniture Inc. of Piscataway, N.J., were sold nationwide from April 2006 through November 2008. The cribs sold for $600 and the furniture for between $700 and $1,000.
Consumers were advised to stop using the products and contact Munire Furniture for a replacement coupon.
