Faulty how-to wiring books recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Taunton Press wiring instruction books due to content errors.
The Taunton Press of Newtown, Conn., produced
Wiring a House, 3rd Edition and
Wiring Complete, Expert Advice from Start to Finish, which instruct readers on wiring projects.
But, errors in technical diagrams could lead consumers to incorrect wiring, which, in turn, could create a shock hazard, the Commission said.
About 64,000 books were sold nationwide between February 2008 and November 2008 for about $25.
Consumers were advised to stop using the books and return them to the retailer for a full refund.
Consumers can call 800-477-8727 for information.
