ACES Power Marketing Adds Customer in Pacific Northwest

January 5, 2009

CARMEL, Ind., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ — ACES Power Marketing (APM) — a
nationally recognized wholesale energy risk management and transaction
execution service company — has now established itself as a service provider
in every market region of the U.S., including the Pacific Northwest, after
signing an agreement with Tacoma Power (Tacoma) in Washington State to provide
risk management consulting. APM was selected by Tacoma to provide services
after meeting a stringent and detailed set of requirements in a competitive
solicitation process.

APM has helped a broad range of industry participants to manage energy
risk, including G&T cooperatives, municipal utilities, investor-owned
utilities, financial institutions and industrial companies. Based on its
extensive experience, APM will help Tacoma assess its energy risk management
framework against industry best practices, and formulate strategies to modify
Tacoma’s practices where that makes the sense.

“It would be hard to overstate how much we stress with our members and
customers the importance of having in place a sound risk management
framework,” said Lori Holt, APM Managing Director of Business Development. “So
this project with Tacoma fits well with APM’s core strengths.”

“This engagement with ACES Power Marketing will enhance Tacoma Power’s
energy risk management function,” said Cam Lehouillier, Risk Manager for
Tacoma Power. “APM has a strong record of providing portfolio risk management
services to public power utilities and we feel confident that we can make
improvements with APM’s assistance.”

About ACES Power Marketing

ACES Power Marketing, headquartered in Carmel, Indiana, began its
operations in February of 1999, and is owned by sixteen (16) power supply
cooperatives. It also provides services to over 30 customers including
cooperatives, municipals, irrigation and public water agencies, financial
institutions, industrial companies and independent power producers.

APM’s business strategy is unique in the energy marketing and trading
industry. It operates as an energy risk management and hedge manager,

allows its customers to actively participate in the hedging strategy by
collectively utilizing APM’s infrastructure and resources to assess risks and
execute specific, customized portfolio strategies. APM does not transact for
its own account, nor does it speculate in the market for its owners or
customers.
