Free PA Lottery Scratch-Off Tickets Offered to First 900 Visitors Over Age 60

HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Department of Aging acting Secretary John Michael Hall will help celebrate “Older Pennsylvanians Day” at the Farm Show on Monday, Jan. 12, by greeting and giving free Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off tickets to older visitors.

“The Department of Aging is dedicated to helping older Pennsylvanians in a variety of ways, including providing vital in-home services and assistance with their prescription medication needs. Being at the Farm Show helps us to keep in touch with older people and provides another opportunity to meet seniors and hear about their concerns,” Hall said.

Information about services for older citizens, which are funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery, will be available at the department’s booth.

On Jan. 12, the first 900 people over age 60 to visit the booth will receive a free $1 “Rooster Riches” scratch-off lottery ticket. The ticket is the Lottery’s limited-edition 2009 Farm Show commemorative instant game. From 11 a.m. to noon, Hall will be joined by acting Secretary of Revenue Stephen H. Stetler and Lottery Executive Director Ed Trees.

The booth — located at the Maclay Street entrance in the Main Hall near the Pennsylvania Marketplace — will be staffed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day from Jan. 10 through Jan. 16. On the final day of the show, Jan. 17, the booth will be staffed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Farm Show, with free admission, is the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation. More information about the show is available at www.farmshow.state.pa.us.
