ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- SentrySafe, the world leader in residential & light-commercial protective containers, is proud to introduce the SentrySafe FIRE-SAFE Vault Door targeted to gun owners, dealers and distributors looking for high security protection for their gun collections, ammunition and valuables.

Complete with a Class B Mercantile Burglary rating, the vault door carries a UL Class 350 fire rating providing maximum security for fire safe rooms. The vault consists of an assembly of insulated doors and when closed interlock with an insulated frame equipped with latches that will withstand a standardized fire of controlled extent and severity for at least 2 hours (reaching 1850 degrees F) or 4 hours (reaching 2000 degrees F) or 6 hours (reaching 2150 degrees F) without exceeding an interior temperature of 350 degrees F.

For further protection and safety, each door includes an inside escape mechanism which can be easily located and operated, even in the dark. A relocking device automatically resets the lock bolt if the lock sustains an attack. A beveled vault threshold allows for easy passage of wheeled carts as well as a seamless transition of the door and its environment. Available in two standard sizes and various colors, the unique design of the SentrySafe vault door frame also allows for easy, non-grout installation in walls 7"-18" thick.

The SentrySafe FIRE-SAFE Vault Door MSRP is $7,000 - $10,800.

"We are thrilled to officially unveil the SentrySafe FIRE-SAFE Vault Door at SHOT 2009," said Sondra McFarlane, director, marketing communications for SentrySafe. "When installed in an pre-built fire-resistant room, our fire-safe vault door offers gun enthusiasts, dealers and distributors a safe place to protect their valuables against the threat of fire and theft."

In August 2008, SentrySafe acquired Lafayette, Indiana-based Schwab Corporation, a worldwide leading manufacturer of high-end security & fire resistant files, safes, cabinets and vault doors. The companies saw the acquisition as an opportunity for both businesses to leverage their assets to create an even stronger business -- a win-win for both SentrySafe and Schwab Corporation.
