Axiom children’s sunglasses recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Axiom International children's sunglasses due to high levels of lead paint.
About 5,300 sunglasses, imported from China, were sold from May 2007 through April 2008 for between $1 and $5 at discount and party stores nationwide.
Surface paint on the sunglasses can contain high levels of lead paint, the Commission said.
The glasses were sold in Spiderweb Blue and Spiderweb Red designs with the spider web pattern etched on the frames in between the eyes.
Consumers were advised to take the sunglasses away from children and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
