The Land of Nod toy xylophones recalled

January 19, 2009

The Land of Nod rolling toy xylophones are being recalled voluntarily because children could choke on their parts, a U.S. product safety agency says.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says rolling xylophone doubles as a pull toy and a xylophone. It has four wheels with pinwheel designs on them and eight metal bars attached by pegs that can break, posing a choking hazard.

About 500 of the toys, imported from China by The Land of Nod of Northbrook, Ill, were sold through various retail outlets nationwide from October 2007 through last March for about $45 apiece.

Consumers were advised to take the toys away from children immediately and return them to The Land of Nod for a credit of the purchase price and a $10 gift.

Consumers can call 800-933-9904 for information.
