Turner Selected to Construct $90 Million High School by Los Angeles Unified School District
Project is 18th Major School Project Awarded to Turner by the District
The 210,000 sq. ft. Central Region High School #16 will include 75-classrooms serving more than 2,000 students on a 13-acre site. The school will also feature a parking area for 194 vehicles, rooftop play courts and a 57,000 sq. ft. athletic field. Green elements of the school include improved indoor air quality, a tubular day-lighting system and the diversion of 85% of the construction and demolition waste.
LAUSD honored Turner Construction Company as the “2008 Contractor of the Year” Award for exceeding expectations and the company’s exemplary contribution to the New School Construction Program and its commitment to safety practices on the LAUSD projects.
