DALLAS, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ — Horizon Logistics, LLC, has launched an
international ocean shipping service to offer supply chain solutions to U.S.
importers and exporters. Horizon Logistics has been licensed by the U.S.
Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) to operate as a non-vessel operating common
carrier (NVOCC). As an NVOCC, Horizon Logistics is able to issue its own
bills of lading and public tariffs, utilizing the service of vessel operating
partners. The first shipments moving under this new service were loaded this
week.

“Our entrance into the international ocean shipping arena is actually a
re-entrance,” said Brian Taylor, President of Horizon Logistics. “Many of our
staff members started their careers at Sea-Land Service, Inc., the company
that started our business and pioneered container shipping 52 years ago, and
was a leading international ocean carrier for decades. We are using that
knowledge and experience, strong carrier relationships and reliable partners
in Asia to offer a cost efficient alternative for U.S. shippers at a time when
they need it most.”

While the company will serve all international trades, Horizon Logistics
initially will focus on serving the transpacific trade lanes between Asia and
North America, offering competitive ocean rates, inland logistics services and
arranging for Customs clearance for integrated import/export solutions.
