Digital Power Wins Leading Manufacturer of Advanced, Next-Generation Optical Transport Systems Solutions

FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Digital Power Corporation continues to focus on developing and manufacturing a custom high-grade cutting-edge power system solutions for both commercial and military/defense industries. Digital Power recently won an important contract with a leading manufacturer of advanced, next-generation optical transport systems for broadband networks to develop a custom power solution for its next generation optical fiber nods system. The power solution incorporates very high efficiency, high power density, active input power factor correction and multiple output voltages.

Digital Power was awarded the leading manufacturer of advanced, next-generation optical transport systems development contract for three important reasons. First, the design of the power solutions meets the fiber optic node product structure with no adaptation is needed. Second, Digital Power offers for this implementation state-of-the-art technology, with an operating efficiency exceeding 90% over much of the intended operating range and third, Digital Power was able to offer this power solution at a very attractive price.
