Industrial Fire World Offers Rare Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Training Opportunity

Global event offers 1 of only 2 Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) worldwide training classes

NEDERLAND, Texas, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ — The 24th Annual Industrial Fire World (IFW) Emergency Responder Conference and Exposition takes place March 23-27, 2009, at the Holiday Inn-Beaumont Plaza in Beaumont, Texas. The five-day event includes workshops, exhibit booths featuring displays of modern-day fire protection products, live fire demonstrations, water delivery technologies, up-to-date software … and much more.

The highlight of the event is the Liquid Natural Gas Symposium — two full days of comprehensive LNG methodology for firefighters assigned the duty of containing and overcoming LNG fires. Since LNG is rapidly replacing other fuel sources for day-to-day industrial operations, the need for LNG firefighting is exponentially growing — however, finding world-class training designed for its containment is difficult.

The two-day LNG Symposium presents a solution to this current training gap as it represents one of only two LNG fire-training opportunities offered globally. The LNG Symposium is March 24 and 25, ending with fire demonstrations at the Beaumont Emergency Services Training (BEST) Complex.

New firefighting products will be demonstrated March 24 with a colorful nighttime demonstration.

The following morning, March 25, more water delivery product demonstrations begin the day.

Training for Emergency response personnel is not only a suggestion, it is required under the National Fire Protection Association 1081.

In response, a pre-conference workshop will be held at the BEST Complex featuring industrial, exterior fire brigade training. Participants will attend classes in preparation for modernistic, hands-on field exercises.

The conference theme addresses unconstructive communication issues that industry leaders and their key emergency response personnel face on a daily basis. Pressured scheduling and time constraints prohibit both sides from achieving effectual communication.
