Nordica USA recalls XBi ALU skis
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Nordica USA XBi ALU skis due to a potential fall hazard.
The binding plates on the skis can crack or break, posing a hazard to skiers, the commission said.
About 4,500 pairs of the skis, made in Italy for Nordica USA of West Lebanon, N.H., were sold nationwide between August 2006 and December 2008 for $800-$1,500.
The recall involves 11 models of skis outfitted with the XBi binding system, the commission said.
Consumers were advised to stop using the recalled skis and return them to the retailer for a free replacement binding plate. Consumers can call 800-892-2668 for information.
