Enables Solution Provider on Major Caribbean Basin Island To Provide Healthcare Industry a Regulated Medical Waste Alternative to Stericycle Plus Confidential Document Destruction Services

BETHEL, Conn., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — MedClean Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: MCLN), a provider of innovative technology and services for onsite treatment and disposal of regulated medical waste (RMW), today announced it has finalized a contract valued at approximately $1 million to provide a turnkey system to a RMW processing provider on a major island in the Caribbean Basin.

This MedClean system includes dual sterilization units, capable of treating 3 million pounds of RMW annually, as well as a high performance, volume reduction shredder. This system will enable the customer to launch a service line providing an economic RMW treatment and processing alternative to Stericycle for the island’s healthcare industry. This customer will gain the added capability to effectively address confidential document destruction on the island.

“In addition to validating our ability to address the turnkey hauler facility segment as targeted in MedClean’s strategic business plan, this contract is significant for several reasons,” said Scott Grisanti, President and Chief Executive Officer of MedClean. “It demonstrates scalability and configurability of the standard technology platform shared by our on-demand containerized solutions. Further, it illustrates our ability to extend our reach beyond the continental U.S. and leverage the MedClean agent network, which was critical to this transaction. Finally, the technical and business collaboration at our company that was required to complete this deal exemplifies our new leadership’s thorough and disciplined approach to ensure success for all of our stakeholders. The same cooperative effort that allowed MedClean to develop the patent-pending technology for our on-demand containers was of paramount importance to our ability to design a solution for this complex application.”
