General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems - Scranton Operations Reaches Historical Production Milestone

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems announced today that its Scranton, Penn., operation has produced the 25 millionth metal projectile body to be manufactured since the plant opened in 1963. The projectile bodies are components of large-caliber ammunition that is used by the U.S. military and allies around the world.

The Scranton facility, the premier manufacturer of projectile metal parts bodies in the world, began its operations as Chamberlain Manufacturing and was acquired by General Dynamics in 2006. The facility has directly supported all branches of the U.S. military and key allies continuously for the past 45 years.
