German Government Sponsors Journalist Trip to Germany About Renewable Energies

WASHINGTON, March 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The German Government is offering journalists the opportunity to get acquainted with Germany’s climate change and energy policies during a visit to Germany in May 2009.
In view of the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference Copenhagen 2009 the program for the visit will focus on German climate and energy policies through 2020 and Germany’s commitment to international cooperation on climate protection in the G8 and European Union. Participants will be able to discuss these issues with officials of the German Foreign Office, the Environment Ministry, the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and the Ministry of Economics and Technology. Participants will also learn about new techniques and visit numerous sites, including the Federal Environment Agency, a test facility for CO2-free brown coal power plant, and the secretariat of the UNFCCC. The trip will also provide opportunities for talks with players in government, industry and science.
The trip will take place from May 3 to May 10, 2009. Destinations will be Berlin, Dessau and Bonn. Language will be English. In addition to North America, the participants will come from different continents, including Latin America, Africa and Asia.
