Entergy Gulf States Louisiana Announces Extension of Exchange Offer for its First Mortgage Bonds, 6.000% Series due May 1, 2018

BATON ROUGE, La., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. announced today that it has extended to 5:00 p.m., New York Time on March 10, 2009, its previously announced offer to exchange its First Mortgage Bonds, 6.000% Series due May 1, 2018 that have been registered under the Securities Act of 1933 for any and all of its outstanding First Mortgage Bonds, 6.000% Series due May 1, 2018 that were issued in a private offering on May 16, 2008. The exchange offer had been scheduled to expire at 5:00 p.m., New York Time, on March 9, 2009 and is being extended in order to allow for additional bonds to be exchanged. All other terms of the exchange offer remain unchanged.

As of 5:00 p.m., New York Time, on March 9, 2009, $374,977,000 (99.99%) of the outstanding $375 million in aggregate principal amount of First Mortgage Bonds, 6.000% Series due May 1, 2018 had been tendered in the exchange offer.
