American Airlines Puts Travel to Argentina and Brazil on Sale, Just $299* Each Way, With Round-Trip Purchase

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Fares on American Airlines to two countries in South America are heading south in a big way. American is offering a fare of just $299* each way (with round-trip purchase on AA.com) for off-peak travel through the end of June from any AA or American Eagle city in the continental United States to any of American's six destinations in Argentina and Brazil.

That's just $299* each way to visit some of South America's most cosmopolitan, lively and colorful cities. In Argentina, American offers service to Buenos Aires. In Brazil, American serves Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Recife and Salvador.

• Begin travel March 31-June 25, 2009; complete travel no later than June 30, 2009.

• 14-day advance purchase is required.

Fare shown is each way based on off-peak, round-trip Economy-Class travel purchased on AA.com, and is in U.S. dollars. Fare shown to Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo is valid for travel Monday-Thursday. Due to schedule frequency, the following exceptions exist to Belo Horizonte, Recife and Salvador fare validity: From U.S. to Belo Horizonte, fare is valid for travel Tuesday/Thursday. From Belo Horizonte to U.S., fare is valid Monday/Wednesday through April 6, 2009; Wednesday April 8-June 10, 2009; and Monday/Wednesday June 15-29, 2009. From U.S. to Recife and Salvador, fare is valid Monday-Thursday through April 6, 2009; Tuesday/Wednesday April 7-June 10, 2009; and Monday-Thursday June 11-30, 2009. From Recife and Salvador to U.S., fare is valid Monday-Thursday through April 7, 2009; Monday/Wednesday/Thursday April 8-June 11, 2009; and Monday-Thursday June 11-30, 2009. Fares are subject to change without notice. International fares are subject to government approval.

Fares do not include (a) a federal excise tax of $3.60 per U.S. domestic flight segment, defined as one takeoff and landing, of a passenger's itinerary; (b) up to $18 per round trip in local airport charges; and (c) September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 per enplanement originating at a U.S. airport. For international/ Puerto Rico destinations, government taxes and fees of up to $180, varying by destination, are not included and may vary slightly depending on currency exchange rates at the time of purchase.

Tickets must be purchased at least 14 days in advance or within one day of making reservations, whichever comes first, but not later than 11:59 p.m., March 23, 2009 (Central Time).

Fares are valid for travel beginning March 31-June 25, 2009. All travel must be completed no later than June 30, 2009. A three-day minimum stay is required, and a 60-day maximum stay is allowed.

Advertised fares are valid only on American Airlines, American Eagle, and the AmericanConnection(R) airlines and do not apply to other codeshare flights. Seats are limited. Fares may not be available on all flights. Schedules are subject to change without notice.

Fares are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Changes to your ticket may be made if you meet the restrictions of the new fare and pay up to a US$200 fee, plus any fare difference. Changes must be made before your ticketed flight's scheduled departure time. If you cancel your flight prior to the scheduled departure time, the ticket will be valid for one year from the date of issue for an unused ticket or one year from travel origination for a partially used ticket. If you do not cancel your flight prior to the scheduled departure time, the ticket has no value.

A portion of travel booked on American Airlines may be operated by American Eagle or an AmericanConnection airline. American Eagle is operated by American Eagle Airlines, Inc., or Executive Airlines, Inc., which are wholly owned by AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines. AmericanConnection service is operated by one of the following independent contractors: Trans States Airlines, Inc., or Chautauqua Airlines, Inc.

To purchase tickets on AA.com you must use a credit card with a billing address in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, the United Kingdom, or select Latin American and Caribbean countries.
