Kenny further stated, "Members of the Illinois Delegation recognize the critical need for these loan guarantees in the current financial crisis. Secure Energy's project has all the necessary permits and is 'shovel-ready' to begin construction. This project will create over three hundred construction jobs as well as hundreds of ancillary support jobs in coal mining and trucking. In addition, once the plant is complete, it plans to employ eighty-six full-time operations employees.
