American Eagle Airlines to Launch Service to Six New Cities From Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will begin nonstop jet service to six new cities from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW): Santa Fe, N.M.; Tallahassee, Fla.; Montgomery, Ala.; Brownsville, Texas; Lake Charles, La.; and Manhattan, Kan. The new service starts on June 11, except for Manhattan, Kan., which starts on Aug. 25.

"Connecting Dallas/Fort Worth to small and medium-sized cities is one of Eagle's key missions, and these new flights are sure to benefit these cities, DFW and the entire AA network."

The six new cities offer travelers from the DFW a variety of options:

Santa Fe, N.M. - With the new DFW service, Santa Fe will have its first commercial jet service in decades. Santa Fe is the state capital and is within minutes of hundreds of outdoor activities, including the great ski destination of Taos, N.M.

Tallahassee, Fla. - Florida State sports fans from the DFW area will now be able to fly to games without changing planes. American Eagle also serves Florida's state capital with service from its Miami Hub.

Montgomery, Ala. - Steeped in history from the Civil War to Civil Rights, Alabama's capital is home to both Maxwell and Gunter Air Force Bases, as well the Montgomery Biscuits, Class AA affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Lake Charles, La. - The "Festival Capital" of Louisiana hosts more than 75 festivals a year. Hundreds of outdoor opportunities also can be enjoyed throughout Southwestern Louisiana.

Brownsville, Texas - Just across the border from Matamoros, Mexico, Brownsville is an exciting two-nation vacation destination. Brownsville is also less than half an hour away from two beautiful Gulf of Mexico beaches.

Manhattan, Kan. - Service to Manhattan Regional Airport will begin on August 25. Manhattan is home of Kansas State University, Fort Riley and the 1st Infantry Division, and also the future site of the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility for Kansas Heartland BioAgro Consortium.

From DFW, American and American Eagle operate approximately 745 daily departures to nearly 160 nonstop destinations. American Airlines starts new service to Madrid beginning May 1. Madrid will be the 34th international destination served by American and American Eagle from its Dallas/Fort Worth hub, depending on the season.
