Chicago Water Taxi Begins Weekday Commuter Service March 30th

Weekend Service Scheduled to Start May 23rd

CHICAGO, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- To meet the needs of Metra commuters who depend on the water taxis from Ogilvie train station at Madison and Canal Streets, Chicago Water Taxi (CWT) operated by Wendella Boats will start the weekday service on March 30th.

As a thank you to our regular commuters, the Chicago Water Taxi will provide complimentary service on March 30 and 31. The taxi service will operate on the regular schedule, which begins at 6:30 a.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. Weekday service has three stops at Michigan Avenue at the Wrigley building, LaSalle/Clark Street and Madison Street. Weekend and holiday service extends the route to the south branch of the Chicago River to Chinatown Pingtom Park. Last year, with great success of the Chinatown service on weekends, CWT has transported thousands of people to Chinatown. "It is a new and fun way to explore the city and its neighborhood by taking the CWT," said Gregg Pupecki, director of sales and marketing for Wendella.

The rate will remain the same at $2 one way and $4 for the all-day pass on weekdays; $6 for the Extended Explore Chicago Ticket on weekends and holidays. 10-ride passes will go up $1 to $16 and the monthly pass will go up $2 to $42. Chicago Water Taxi will be offering convenient new ticketing kiosks to use at our Madison Street and Michigan Avenue locations.
