Learn how to help fight global warming and save green by going green
Three-day event takes place in
GreenFest will showcase practical steps all of us can take on the path to a green future. It features state and national environmental leaders who will share ideas about how families and businesses can reduce New Jersey's carbon footprint and work toward a more sustainable earth.
The event boasts some 100 green exhibits, interactive entertainment, demonstrations, and programs for adults and children.
"Our society faces the urgent need for action on climate change," said
PSEG GreenFest 2009 has something for everyone -- from eco-friendly products and energy-saving tips and technologies for homes and businesses to a science circus, a children's environmental oasis, virtual wildlife tours, and fun activities for kids and the whole family.
There will be workshops galore -- on how businesses can launch green initiatives to save energy and money, for high school students on food and the environment, and for educators to take back to their classrooms. Other workshops will explore investing in clean and green technologies, no cost and low cost methods for going green, and organic gardening.

The PSEG exhibits will outline the company's many other green initiatives, from conservation and energy efficiency, to renewable forms of energy including wind and biomass, to innovations in street lighting and other green technologies. Also on display will be a hybrid bucket truck and bucket trucks powered by electric drive units, part of the PSE&G's efforts to green its vehicle fleet.
