Himfr.com Analyzes China's Automotive Electronics Market

The Automotive Electronics (Cartronics) market is a supplement of the 3C market and has different characteristics from traditional 3C markets. Traditional 3C products are hot on the market. Their main target market is the consumer products category of the mass market. With huge production and a very short life cycle, it is difficult to have products that last 5 years. Some products will be replaced by the next generation in less than half a year.
The main problem in the mass consumer market is that price competition is vicious. Relatively speaking, the automotive market, its technical requirements, sales channels and other aspects, creates a high threshold for enterprise to enter the market. The automotive market is more product-driven rather than price driven. As long as the auto parts maker has the ability to enter the market, often they can obtain stable returns.
In view of the tremendous market potential and growth, automotive electronics has become a stable market. The product life cycle is longer, and automotive electronics manufacturers have sufficient time to make their products for optimal implementation. Higher threshold of automotive electronics has resulted in the initial investment being higher, but because of long-term supply and service facilities, there can be an excellent return on investment.
Automotive electronics have become one of the key points for car upgrades. At present, automotive electronics products account for about 20% of the total cost of a vehicle. It is predicted that by 2010 this could reach 40%.
Automotive electronics and system design trends
At present, cars are already not only used to transport people, but are also required to provide comfort. Without prejudice to the premise of safety, cars are comfortable and should be an extension of the home. At home, one can enjoy high-fidelity audio and high-definition video, and these should be essential products in an automobile. Cars should also be an extension of the office environment. Vehicles should be equipped with advanced communication facilities, internet access and satellite navigation information.
Energy issues are the world's hot spots of common concern. Cars, as high energy consumers, experienced problems caused by high oil prices. Therefore car manufacturing plants are carrying out the transformation of power systems and new alternative energy research and development, such as hybrids, fuel cells, diesel technology, solar power technology and so on. Among them, hybrids are expected to become one of the next generation's mainstream energy technologies.
