Dr. Sivananthan is the pioneering architect of HgCdTe on Silicon, the infrared technology breakthrough that has revolutionized night vision. EPIR uses molecular beam epitaxy to produce state-of-the-art single and multiple element focal plane array infrared detectors, which are supplied with packaged detector/cooler assemblies.

“As a primary supplier of night vision technology to the United States military and its allies, EPIR is held to the highest standards imaginable,” said Carl Smith, Chairman and CEO of Sunovia. “Their ability to consistently meet and exceed those standards is testament to the quality of the scientific team Dr. Sivananthan has assembled at EPIR. EPIR is the top infrared lab in the world today, and the future of these breakthrough infrared products looks very promising.”

“Our business plan has been to underwrite a significant portion of the solar system development costs with revenues from the sale of both proprietary infrared products and our proprietary LED lighting solutions,” Smith continued. “The successful commercialization of the infrared product lines by EPIR is a key milestone in the execution of this plan.”
