Evenflo high chairs recalled

April 3, 2009

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Evenflo highchairs due to fall and choking hazards.

About 643,000 of the Evenflo Envision highchairs were sold in various models at Toys R Us, Babies R Us, K-Mart and Burlington Coat Factory outlets for between $80 and $110 from December 2002 through April 2006, the Commission said.

The highchairs were imported from China by Evenflo Co. Inc. of Miamisburg, Ohio. The company name Evenflo appears on a label sewn into the seat back and the word Envision is printed on the front of the tray.

The company has received 13 reports of incidents involving fastener and screws coming lose, increasing the risk of injury.

Consumers were advised to stop using the highchairs immediately and contact Evenflo for a free repair kit.

Consumers can call 800-233-5921 for information.
