Simplicity play yards recalled

April 10, 2009

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Simplicity play yards due to fall and entrapment hazards.

The Travel Tender Play Yards include rails that can collapse without warning, creating a hazard for children, the Commission said.

About 25,000 of the portable play yards were imported from China by Simplicity, Inc. and SFCA, Inc. of Reading, Pa., and were sold nationwide from March 2005 through January 2009 for about $100.

The play yards were sold with various features, including a bassinet and changing table.

Consumers were advised to return the items to the stores where they were purchased.

Consumers can call retailers Burlington Coat Factory of Burlington, N.J. at 888-223-2628 or Babies R Us of Wayne, N.J., at 800-869-7787 for information.
