Gipson’s management experience with Hussmann and Ingersoll Rand includes sales, marketing, manufacturing operations, engineering and business development. He was President of Hussmann’s North American business unit from 2000 to 2005 and previously was President of Ingersoll Rand’s Asia Pacific Climate Control Technologies business unit.
As Executive Vice President of the Cold Chain Group, Gipson and his team launched a new business unit focused on food safety intervention technology. The unit recently developed and deployed an Environment Management System for food processing, storage and retail. Central to the EMS is a patented surface and air sanitation technology that uses oxygen ions to cleanse the ambient environment, killing bacteria, viruses and molds that reduce the quality, safety and shelf life of perishable products. EMS sanitizes the surfaces of food, food-handling or processing equipment, and the air itself, but is harmless to people, animals and the environment.
Gipson and his team have also developed and deployed a strategic framework for Ingersoll Rand’s initial entry into the RFID business segment, and published a Cold Chain Encyclopedia that documents best practices in cold chain logistics for fruits and vegetables.
