Mercury Insurance Named One of America’s Most Trustworthy Companies by Forbes.com

For a second straight year, Mercury received the highest score awarded

LOS ANGELES, April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Mercury Insurance has been named as one of America’s 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in an annual survey commissioned by Forbes.com. Mercury is only one of 10 companies to appear on the list three years in a row, and the company achieved the highest score awarded for the second consecutive year.

Conducted by Audit Integrity, the list ranks the nation’s top 100 companies that have consistently demonstrated transparent and conservative accounting practices and solid corporate governance and management.

Forbes.com’s Top 100 Most Trusted Companies list was compiled by scanning more than 8,000 companies traded on U.S. exchanges with market caps of $200 million or more. Companies are grouped into three subcategories based on market capitalization. Mercury is ranked as a Mid-Cap Company, and each quarter it receives an accounting and governance risk score (AGR) based on Audit Integrity’s proprietary modeling, which evaluates practices that correlate with shareholder risk. Mercury was one of 14 mid- and small-cap companies that received Audit Integrity’s highest AGR score of 88.

Mercury has received an A+ (Superior) rating from A.M. Best and an AA- rating from Standard & Poor’s, which were earned through disciplined underwriting, strict cost control and efficient claims management.
