Gatorade sues Coca-Cola over ads
Gatorade Co., a division of PepsiCo Inc., has filed suit in New York to stop a Coca-Cola Co. advertisement that compares the two companies' sports drinks.
The advertisement in question touts Coca-Cola's Powerade Ion 4 as
the complete sports drink, says Gatorade is
missing two electrolytes and is therefore
incomplete, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.
no evidence scientific or otherwisethat Powerade Ion 4 is a superior product.
PepsiCo bought Gatorade as part of a 2001 purchase of Quaker Oats Co. The company is asking Coca-Cola for damages suffered from what it considers false advertising.
